>>27555 no rush. but I'll need your help to figure out why the problem is hitting you specifically.

>>27557 going back to the first part, the demand for "programmers" has plummeted, since programming can be done by AI, orders of magnitude more efficiently than by humans. Of course this has a cost, but the cost is nowhere near the $150+/h of what a senior level developer used to run. or even the $80+ of what an entry-level programmer used to run. The AI can code circles around them for dollars per hour. it's the equivalent of "liking" to build cars... by hand. No one is going to pay for you to build cars by hand in 2026, even though they might have in 1926. And no one is going to hire you to be a programmer at the established rates any more, unless you're using AI to do things significantly more efficiently than you could do it yourself, since you're competing with not only AI itself, but also the distributed nature of AI, and the fact that an AI "expert" from India can do the same exact work that you can, for $5/h.

The place where AI fails (for now) is design. It can figure out how to do something if you tell it, but it won't figure out what the next step should be on its own. So AI replaces the grunt-work of actually doing the coding, while at the same time still requiring people to architect/design for it. But the architects and designers don't necessarily have to be expert programmers in their own right. Hell, this is exactly what I'm doing with Ponychan. I know dick about PHP and Javascript, but I know enough about programming from the other languages I do know to be able to tell the AI "do this general thing" and "make sure we account for X" and "take Y into consideration" and "check for Z." And then it does the thing, I check that it works, and on we go to next thing.

As far as the second part, destroying humanity has multiple possible meanings. Some people literally mean that AI will become so powerful and eventually decide we're a threat, that it decides to wipe us all out. Some think it will incorporate itself into our society to the point where it becomes impossible to extricate and eventually outcompete us as the dominant force on earth. Some just think that it will upend society as it makes work by humans pointless. All of those things could be true. Billy getting fired strongly supports the third instance as a present-day reality. And Bobby using AI is irrelevant, since corporations and businesses have basically never stifled their own productivity for the benefit of their workers. The Model T pressed on despite how awful mass production of automobiles was for artisan car production, and car-building robots were developed despite how awful it was for the automobile factory line worker. Bobby can either demand the use of AI, or get left behind as all of his peers will continue pushing forward whether or not Bobby chooses to force AI on his company.

A non-working species is not an extinct species. We have an underlying feeling that we don't need each other and we project this feeling onto Ai not needing us and thus getting rid of us.

At present, global CAPTCHA is turned off, but it is applied to people who don't have a posting history, since the CP spammers always use different IPs. But each time you change IPs, that means you lose your posting history.

Two different sides. There are 8 parties spread out in the red vs blue spectrum. Since the red and the blue got the same amount of votes this means that each side gets 174 and 175 mandates. Mandates are like a voice if something like a law goes through or not. Since both sides have an equal amount of mandates hardly anything will ever happen unless these sworn enemies can agree on something.

Only so much as that it might cause irreversible problems rather than total extinction. I think people give to much credit to humans going extinct when we're pretty sturdy as far as evolution in concerned, not as many things on this planet can lose half their blood content, or breath carcinogens everyday for 60 years and still function into almost geriatric age.
