>>209I like it very much. The image I'm referring to. Thing is, I'm in the market to buy a training rifle. And I think I've settled on a Kalashnikov.
But that picture and other things in media are reminding me that the M16 or the M-[whatever] AR rifles are more closely associated in media and television with the good guys. Where is the AKs are typically associated with the bad guys. Kind of makes me feel bad because I want to have that all-American feel of a gun owner, exercising my rights and whatnot. But all the research I'm doing is telling me that the M-[whatever] rifles are kind of like the iPhone of the gun world where is the kalashnikovs are like the Android of the gun world. Meaning that it's another case-and-point where over engineering might be taking away from it, rather than adding to it. Kalashnikovs are just known to be more reliable, less problematic, and overall better rifles, in general. Not even pointing out that they're cheaper, it literally seems like a better buy for less money.
Yet I can't really get over the idea of feeling like my LARPing rifle would carry the stigma of "bad guy" or "criminal" if I go with the kiloshnikov, which I might do. I'm huffing copium by telling myself " don't worry, the rifle is literally made by an American company and even some people in the US military use AKs" so I don't feel like a gangbanging communist warlord kingpin.
Cool image, though.
As for the thread, I've been watching Steven Universe again and I'm getting through it pretty well. Enjoyable and engaging. We're just at the part where Peridot is entered into the mix and.... Something is happening with Cristal gems and home world and like a war..... Shit, man, I dono. Actually enjoying watching it, though.
