it's going reasonably well. my internet connection is good here, which helps. my dad's alliance got its ass kicked in territory defense earlier today so they're homeless at the moment. the alliance I'm in raided a much larger alliance's group starbase not long ago which sparked a major dogfight which we won, and we took a ton of resources from them. And now I'm just catching up on events while I can.

no; I'm in a weird spot in the game. The only specialty ships I don't have are the 2 brand new ones, and I won't get those for months at the earliest. I'm at the upper end of "4*" resources/gameplay, but the 4* rare and epic ships are prohibitively expensive. So the META is to skip them and go straight for the 5* ships. It'll be a while before I get to 5*. But I did just go up in level from 46 to 47, and just a few resources shy of being able to get to 48. 5* starts at 51, but I have to do a lot of prep-work before I go past 50.

People have been saying that the VIPs/whales are annoyed that they have no competition. So the game is now throwing absurd amount of latinum at players. I've gotten 5X more in the past week than the max I've ever had at one time. So I'm dumping it into research and efficiencies.
I actually don't know what's available in the 5* (and now 6*) ships. The "Enterprise A" is an epic 4* so I probably won't ever get it. I don't even have access to see what's available past 50 right now. I'd have to consult a wiki.

Well, good food makes bad beer better I guess. I've never heard of such a tradition with grapes.

We played it for 2.5 hours and then agreed to stop. It's a really tough game, mostly cause the questions are from the late 80s, thus asking a lot of stuff from the 70s and 80s.

I found an amazing system in Mirror space that gives a ridiculous amount of broken ship parts (which you refine into usable ship parts) as well as faction reputation and credits. I shared its location with some others who also agreed it's the best thing since sliced bread. We call it the Promised Land.
